Every year many talented young people apply for studies in singing at universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. To pass the entrance examination, one need a proper preparation. A profound breathing technique and finding out your own technical possibilities in singing will give you the necessary safety and courage to do the important step.
But often seemingly incidental formalities are rather important: How do I present myself? What are the right arias to prepare for a entrance examination? Which is the right order to present them? How do I move during the performance of an aria? Do I know what I am singing about? Who am I in the moment of a presentation? etc.
Breathing technique, articulation, resonance and the right techniques of learning are part of the singing lessons with professional teacher Arantxa Armentia as well as learning ways to express yourself, to shape an aria and looking for a repertoire that fits to your voice. Singing teacher Arantxa Armentia studied in her home country Spain and in Germany and therefore knows two very different education systems. She looks back on a long successful career on the stages of the biggest opera houses in Europe – from Madrid’s Teatro Real to Vienna State Opera – and knows the very special situation of an audition from the candidate’s as well as from the jury panel’s perspective. She is experienced in the German university system as well as in the German theater system with all its peculiarities.
